About Netpark

and it's people
Return to Netpark's Home Page.

Netpark Ltd was originally founded in 1990, as an I.T. Consultancy company. We have performed a variety of VAX/VMS-based, software development and system testing contracts for companies such as Barclays Mercantile, British Telecom, Citibank, EDS, Compaq/HP and the National Grid.

Since 1998, we have also been a key player in website design and development for a growing number of large and small clients alike. Most recently we have performed key development services for the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA).

We believe that the web is a medium that should be available to everyone, not just to huge multi-national companies with enormous budgets and resources.

From the smallest one-page commission, to multi-page websites for up-and-coming companies and individuals alike, Netpark's commitment to our customers, staff and community remains consistent; fair deals, quality products, friendly and efficient customer service and a strong sense of ethics and fair-play. That's why we support the International Webmaster's Association "Pro-Ethics Campaign"

Here's a little bit of background on some of our key people:-

Phil McKenzie:

Go to Phil's web page

Born and raised in New Zealand, Phil moved to the UK in 1990 and was the founder of Netpark Ltd.

Phil has over 20 years experience in the I.T. industry, divided fairly evenly between Digital/Compaq/HP systems (using variations of VAX/OpenVMS technology) and website & software development. He has also worked as a shift operator, programmer, system specialist, network technician, technical author, applications tester, security specialist and quality-controller.

Over recent years Phil has turned his skills more towards PC applications development and support using Visual Basic and the development of web-based bespoke Content Management Systems (CMS) using PHP and MySQL. He also has fairly in-depth experience of a number of off-the-shelf CMS packages, especially Reddot CMS.

Phil is a keen diver and part-time martial artist, who also enjoys abseiling, photography and travel whenever the opportunity arises. When he gets time, he also plays the guitar rather badly and ponders the great mysteries of our universe (such as why the washing machine always seems to eat one of his socks whenever he does his laundry).

Su Lawrence:

Su was born in England. One of her first artistic endeavours was hiding behind a curtain in her parent's living room, at age 4, scribbling on the newly painted wall with wax crayon. Since then she has turned her talents to more socially acceptable mediums and her work now graces the walls of such prestigious institutions as the Royal Armoury in Leeds.

Su has worked as a freelance artist since 1991 and her work is well regarded, both here in the UK and all over the world. She is a versatile artist, working in a variety of mediums, including chalk pastel; watercolour pencil; acrylic paint; silk, cotton fabric and leather painting. Subjects range from fantasy artwork to portraits and landscapes; with a large portion of her work being detailed pencil drawings of the Sealed Knot Society in action on the battlefield.  (Of which she has been a member since 1984).

Su has over 15 years experience in computer graphics, including such areas as logo design, typesetting/layout work, software 'splash' pages, brochures and exhibition promotional material.  More recently she has turned her skills towards web design and graphics and has also branched out into animation.  Her design and conceptual skills are now widely sought-after.

When she isn't working with computers, Su enjoys gardening, and pursuing a goal of creating the ultimate sandwich!
